The Shire has successfully secured funding from the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation through their Community Water Supplies Program to draft and adopt a Strategic Water Plan. This plan will be in place to map out the current Shire's water resources and infrastructure, indicate future water sources and infrastructure needed and also assist with working towards future waterproofing the Shire.

The company contracted to take on this project of creating a Strategic Water Plan is Pinion Advisory. This company's main focus areas are agribusiness, water and environment. They have plenty of previous experience within creating of water plans and have a great understanding of what our Shire is trying to work towards.

The total cost of this project is $105,765 with DWER contributing $67,290 through grant funding towards this project.
