The Shire has successfully secured funding from the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation through their Community Water Supplies Program for the demolition and installation of a new larger water tank. This tank supplies water to the standpipe located on Goudge Road and also then gravity feeds into Calingiri to fill the water tanks that supply water for public spaces.
The new tank is a 370,000 litre tank which is filled via the bore that is located on Parker Road. The current tank was showing signs of wear and tear and was no longer meeting capacity requirements especially in cases of emergencies where much larger volumes of water need to be on hand. This project is expected to cost $111,925 with DWER contributing $78,347.50 through the grant funding program for this project.
This project is due to be completed by June 2025.
