The Grevillea Wind Farm project is currently in the Early Development phase. The site has been carefully selected with technical, environmental, social and commercial considerations in mind. The project is expected to progress to the Late Development phase in 2025.
Land agreements are secured with host landowners, and community consultation begins with neighbour properties. Wind monitoring masts are erected, and environmental surveys commence to support the approval process.
Green Wind Renewables is committed to engaging with residents within the Shire of Moora, Shire of Victoria Plains, Moora, and broader community for the development of the Grevillea Wind Farm project. Our approach to community engagement is both genuine and long lasting and includes the property owners directly hosting wind turbines and electricity transmission towers as well as the neighbouring community members. We are committed to keeping you updated on key milestones, developments and news related to the wind farm. Your understanding and support contribute significantly to the success of our endeavours, and we are dedicated to fostering positive engagement with the local community.
The Grevillea Wind Farm project aims to maximise the potential for local businesses, workers, and the broader community to participate in its development. Our intention is to create opportunities to support the local economy, create jobs, enhance skills, and build lasting relationships within the community.
To ensure the community’s existing needs and vulnerabilities are understood, a Socio-Economic Impact Assessment (SEIA) will be undertaken. The assessment will focus on the impact of the proposed Grevillea Wind Farm on the quality of life and livelihoods of people in the Shire of Victoria Plains including potential jobs, social services, culture, amenity, and wellbeing. The SEIA will address how the potential negative impacts can be mitigated and how opportunities can be developed to support the Shire of Victoria Plains.
Community input will also be sought on the creation and management of a Community Benefit Fund. The Grevillea Wind Farm project, through a Community Benefit Fund, aims to provide tangible benefits to the Shire of Victoria Plains community. The Community Benefit Fund is planned to commence at the end of the development phase of the project, will operate for the life of the wind farm and offers financial support to local endeavours through educational programs and projects.
